⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I cannot express enough how grateful I am for Dr.Stepien . Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but she also showed immense compassion when I was going through a difficult time. I went to her for a hair|Skin issue that was affecting both my physical and emotional well-being, and she went above and beyond to make me feel heard and supported. I went on Thursday to have a keloid treated. It was very easy to get an appointment quickly. The location is quiet with lots of parking. The office is comfortable and the staff are very friendly, personable, and attentive. The nurse and doctor explained everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. The procedure was quick and the docotr made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. My only regret is waiting so long to make an appointment. I'm so grateful I found Jacksonville Dermatology!

While skin tags do not threaten your health, you may feel self-conscious about the appearance or texture of your skin. As a result, you may wonder what you can do to get rid of them.

If you want to remove your skin tags, do not attempt to remove them yourself. Home remedies and treatments can cause bleeding and serious infections. At Jacksonville Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery, we provide comprehensive dermatologic and cosmetic services. We maintain the highest quality care in a warm and compassionate environment.

What are Skin Tags?

Skin tags are tiny flaps of flesh-colored skin that protrude from the skin. They can be found almost anyplace on the body, but they tend to occur on the neck, underarms, groin, and eyelids. These little growths pose no health risk, but many people find them irritating and decide to remove them.

The exact cause of skin tags isn’t completely understood. However, they do occur more commonly in diabetic and obese individuals and people with a family history of skin tags. They affect men and women equally.

How are Skin Tags Treated?

Since skin tags are a benign skin condition, they are generally not removed unless an individual finds them irritating or displeasing. While some home remedies or treatments claim to remove them, surgery is the only way to safely and effectively remove skin tags. A dermatologist will use a blade, liquid nitrogen, or electric cautery. A local anesthetic can be used if necessary.

Skin tags that are removed don’t typically grow back. However, you can still develop new ones in other parts of your body.

  1. Great article! Skin tags can be quite common and it’s helpful to understand their causes and treatment options. It’s also important to note that while skin tags are generally harmless, conditions like lipomas may also cause concern. If you’re looking for effective treatment options, Lipoma Treatment in Delhi can provide expert care for these benign growths as well. Thanks for sharing such informative content!
