What is Kybella^®?

Deoxycholic acid, also known as Kybella^®, is an FDA-approved treatment for excess fat in the chin region (also known as a “double chin”).

Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring acid in your liver that helps break down fats. When injected into fat cells beneath the chin, Kybella^® dissolves the fat cells, permanently reducing the appearance of a “double chin.”

“Double chin,” or submental fullness, is a common problem both men and women encounter. Various factors contribute to this problem, including genetics, aging, and weight gain. What can you expect?

Before any procedure, you will have a consultation with our expert cosmetic dermatologists. The physician will listen to you, perform a thorough evaluation, and provide an individualized treatment plan to address your needs and concerns.

First, our cosmetic dermatologists will examine your chin/submental area. Next, you will ice the chin for 5-10 minutes to minimize discomfort. We then will mark and clean the treatment area. Injections are individualized to sculpt your jawline. Significant improvement usually occurs after the second treatment. Typically, excellent results can be achieved with 3-4 treatments.
