Hair loss can occur for many reasons, including:

  • Genetic pattern hair loss (male or female pattern thinning)
  • Autoimmune conditions such as alopecia areata
  • Inflammatory scalp disorders
  • Hormonal changes
  • Stress-related shedding
  • Certain medications

Because different types of hair loss require different treatments, an accurate diagnosis is the first and most important step.

PRP is a regenerative treatment that uses a concentrated portion of your own blood to support hair follicle activity.

  • A small sample of your blood is drawn.
  • The blood is processed to isolate platelet-rich plasma.
  • The PRP is injected into targeted areas of the scalp.

Platelets contain growth factors that may help stimulate hair follicles that are still viable but underperforming.

  • Early male pattern thinning
  • Female pattern hair thinning
  • Widening part lines
  • General reduction in hair density

PRP tends to work best in patients with active hair follicles.

  • In-office procedure
  • Typically 45–60 minutes
  • Mild scalp tenderness may occur
  • Little to no downtime

Because hair grows in cycles, improvement is gradual. A series of treatments is often recommended, followed by maintenance sessions.

Kenalog is a corticosteroid medication that may be used in certain types of inflammatory or autoimmune-related hair loss.
It is most commonly used for:

  • Alopecia areata
  • Localized inflammatory scalp conditions

Kenalog is injected directly into the affected areas of the scalp to help reduce inflammation around hair follicles. In some patients, this may allow hair regrowth in treated areas. Treatment is typically performed in the office and may be repeated at intervals depending on your response.

Not all hair loss conditions are appropriate for steroid injections. Proper diagnosis is essential.

Hair loss treatment is not one-size-fits-all. At our Jacksonville office, we:

  • Identify the underlying cause
  • Evaluate scalp health
  • Review medical history
  • Recommend evidence-based treatment options
  • Monitor progress over time

You may benefit from evaluation if you:

  • Notice increased shedding
  • See the widening of your part
  • Have patchy hair loss
  • Experience thinning at the crown or hairline
  • Have sudden or unexplained hair loss

The earlier treatment begins, the better the chance of preserving existing follicles.

A consultation is required to determine the most appropriate approach.
